Summary

Injured workers have more exposure to Medicare than ever before. Medicare is issuing more conditional payment letters due to looming civil monetary penalties for reporting non-compliance on the carrier side. Medicare directs these letters to Medicare beneficiaries, and the onus is on the injured worker to act! Sometimes their lawyer is copied, but sometimes not. Lawyers representing injured workers need to understand this issue so they can properly prepare their client in case this happens to them.

John V. Cattie will help you understand why you or the client are receiving what appears to be a duplicate letter from Medicare. He will provide guidance on how to communicate with your client about this letter and teach you how to get Medicate to close its file (again).
